A good quote brief combines geometry with context. Your file shows the shape; your notes explain what the part must achieve.
General guidance: these principles help prepare an enquiry. They do not confirm Electrovo’s equipment, stocked materials, capabilities or achievable tolerances.
Start with the purpose
Explain whether you want to assess appearance, test assembly, explore fit or use a part in an application. Include the number of parts and whether they are identical. A statement such as “this face must sit against the existing housing” is more helpful than “make it accurate”.
Check units and overall size
Confirm the intended dimensions in your notes, even when the export format can describe units. STL stores a triangle mesh without a standard unit declaration; the same coordinates can be interpreted at very different scales. A 3MF package can include a unit setting, but an explicit overall dimension is still a useful cross-check.
Look for geometry problems
Where your design software provides them, use mesh checks to identify open edges, non-manifold geometry, duplicate surfaces and unintended separate shells. A closed, coherent mesh is generally a better starting point for manufacturing review. Do not assume that a file which looks correct on screen is ready to print.
Describe important fits and features
Identify holes, mating faces and any dimensions that matter to the purpose of the part. A mesh alone does not state an engineering tolerance. If there is a drawing or an existing component to fit, mention it in the description so an appropriate way to share the information can be agreed.
Choose a sensible export
Export enough detail to represent curves and features without creating an unnecessarily large mesh. There is no single export tolerance suitable for every design. Check the exported file’s overall size and appearance in your own trusted design software before uploading. Keep your original editable design file for revisions.
Send what you have
Electrovo’s form accepts one valid STL or self-contained 3MF mesh up to 10 MB. It may reject slicer project packages, unsupported extensions or external references. Do not rename an incompatible file to bypass a check. If you are unsure, send the enquiry without a model and describe the file you have.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Ready to discuss your model?
Send the brief and any model you have. We’ll review your project before confirming a specification and quote.
